Name: Blake Belladonna
Canon: RWBY
Canon Point:
Age: 18
Appearance:
Long Hair
Short Hair
Abilities:
- The ability to create shadow copies of herself. They are pretty solid and she has been shown to be able to use them as a platform to leap off of into midair. However, they can be dispatched via direct hit or if they get too far away from her.
- When equipping Gambool Shroud with dust, the clones can be giving elemental properties. (A fire clone explodes on contact and Torchwick wasn't able to free his weapon from an ice clone once it solidified.)It's probably not going to be applicable in this game unless she gets her hands on some Dust somehow.
- At the end of the battle with Adam this ability appears to have evolved. Blake casts not only a very convincing shadow clone of herself, but also of Yang. Her clone even lasts a few seconds after its decapitation by Adam's sword buying Blake enough time to get herself and the real Yang away.
- Given that she was able to move a crowd of reluctant faunus to join her in protecting a human school, I would say diplomacy is another thing Blake is good at. Her time in the White Fang and with Beacon have somewhat sharpened her ability to see both sides of an issue.
You see this side of her nature come out again when dealing with Robyn Hill where she convinces Yang to talk things out with Robyn rather than ambush a huntress, who like them, is just trying to do her job.
(Optional) Personality:
When Blake first appeared she was very reserved. She clearly preferred the company of her books to people. She doesn't stick around to socialize after the aftermath of Ruby's explosion in the courtyard and Yang and Ruby also have a difficult time drawing her into a conversation that first night at Beacon until Ruby asks what her book is about. She barely spoke to Sun at all during the first day that they met until she decided to explain her past and her concerns about the White Fang being behind a recent string of crimes in Vale. Blake comes out of her shell the most when she's talking about something she's passionate about.
She has no problem speaking the truth especially if it's about something she thinks is an injustice. Blake dislikes discrimination and wants all people to be treated fairly. She was swift to point out to Weiss that many of the White Fang members are just misguided and only act the way they do because of how Humans have treated them. She also exploded angrily at her teammate for calling Sun Wukong a 'rapscallion' and assuming that he'd probably join the White Fang because he is a stowaway and a Faunus. She concludes that he is a person too, no matter what else he is. She and Weiss bumped heads so hard over this that they literally argued until sundown when in the heat of her frustration, Blake yelled 'maybe we were just tired of being pushed around!' causing her to reveal her race and her past in the White Fang. Blake reveals later that she left them because they had become too violent and she could no longer ignore her conscience. Even though Faunus were being treated better it was out of fear and not respect, something that she did not want. It was after that that she decided to become a Huntress instead, opting for another way to use her skills for good.
Due to Blake's stubborn nature and how serious she is about what she cares about, she doesn't let go of things easily and wants to fix them right away. She also has no problem with taking care of things on her own. The problem is, she often wants to take on things that are too big for her without asking for help. Upon learning that the White Fang is working with Roman Torchwick, Blake barely sleeps and spends most of her time trying to get information on the group. She also shows outward frustration at her friends for being occupied with the school dance when their enemies are still out there and most certainly not taking it easy. She shrugs off their attempts to get her to take care of herself and even snaps at Sun when he tries to ask her to the dance, saying that she thought that he of all people would understand why she wouldn't want to waste her time at 'a stupid dance.' It got to a point where Yang, her partner in team RWBY, cornered Blake and told her own account of being so obsessed with something that she wasn't living her life. Yang tells her that slowing down is not giving up. Blake was still reluctant to listen until Yang shoved her, easily overpowered her and pointed out that Blake, exhausted and barely able to even stand up to her, would be no good against the likes of Torchwick even if he walked through the door.
Blake's biggest personality flaw and weakness are that under emotionally stressful situations she runs away. Rather than face Adam with her doubts about the direction the White Fang was going in and her desire to leave, she separated from him during a mission. She also ran when she accidentally admitted to the group she was a Faunus. She's was in the past particularly sensitive to how people might treat her if they know about this and hides the pair of cat ears on her head under a black bow. She points out that even her semblance is about running away. The shadow copy takes the damage and she retreats. Because of this, Blake doubted herself. She also fretted about how she was supposed to undo so many years of hate and pain between Faunus and Humans and was skeptical about Ruby's optimistic view of the world.
She found the answer in Menagerie: you don't. Not alone. You ask for help from your friends. It's still not something she's very good at because it was never something she was used to. Her last partner became a bastard and she learned to go at things along. But with the persistence of a friend (Sun Wukong) who wouldn't give up on her she learned to lean on others again. It was thanks to this that Adam's latest plans failed. Following Sun's example she decided she would not give up on her friends either. She successfully stopped Ilia Amitola from making a terrible choice and found the courage to rejoin her team with this renewed spark. Not least, she finally stood up to Adam and didn't try to take everything onto her own shoulders. She also rentered the group without her bow and no longer hides her ears.
That being said, old habits are hard to break. She does still struggle with the concept of taking on too much responsibility at times. Examples would include being overprotective of Yang and still having a tendency to want to do things on her own when like going to the Atlas comm tower alone.
